Monday I went out with 2 clients from last week. This week we spent time on the lower end after launching from Shutes Branch. The water temp was 74 with 1.5 vis. Here were some of our best areas.

-Dupont plant. Fishing the cove where the water run in the back we caught we several short bass and keeper, including a 5+ on shaky heads with green pumpkin/red flake worms and a swing head jig with a Big Bite green pumpkin craw. The keepers almost all came 20 yards to the left of the water discharge.

-We tried a few main lake points with no luck and by Anchor High Marina. Few bites, but no hook ups.

    – Half way through out trip we moved behind Harbor Island and fished the rip rap with our shaky heads. Sitting in 8ft-14ft and casting to the rocks we caught several, including a couple keepers. Then we moved to right bank out from the left Shutes Branch boat ramp if your looking at both ramp from the lake. Fishing the entire right bank where there is grass and boulder rocks in 1ft-3ft we caught tons of fun smaller bass on weightless white flukes and Bull Ribbit frogs. The wind was blowing in on the grass perfectly. One of my clients had a near 5lb in the boat before it made a run and broke the line. This hog bit after we have been fishing the grass for near an hour!

-Our last spot was around the other boat ramp and under the bridge. Fishing the main point directly in front of you after going under the bridge we caught several more on our flukes in 1-2ft.

We headed in after a fun last few hours of our trip!

Sorry for any spelling errors, Im falling asleep…..completely exhausted.
