Went out for a few hours this afternoon, testing the newest boat toys I added. Fished the LaVergne Pumphouse using shakey heads and Green worms with blue/purple flakes. We caught a few short bass. We did see some surface blowup’s from good sized bass but they were very spread. Tried a Zara Spook but no bites. Weather was great, overcast skies, south breeze, water temp was 71 most places.

Hope this forecast rain comes down, we need some … Be careful out there while boating, plenty of shallows out in water where you wouldn’t normally expect them.

I agree. I love fishing the Pump House. But with the water so low I’m not taking the change to mess up the boat, so I stay around Anderson and Smith Springs… Most of that area is 8 to 20 ft deep …

I fished the same area sunday evening. Right at 7 pm, I saw several different jumps start erupting. They never stayed up very long and I tossed my rattle trap into as many I could get to and caught a few whites. Never caught anything on my shakeyhead.

Dang y’all found my spot lol. I’ve been catching good fish there by throwing a Carolina rig with a creature bait to the shelf at the pump house and as soon as it falls off BOOM! Several 4 pounders and have caught a number of decent fish by hitting that spot when it’s cloudy and throwing either a spook or a popR same pattern once it crosses into deep water they hammer it.
