hey fellas , I sold my alumacraft 175 and am in the market for a fiberglass fish and ski combo so i can have a few more people out and like the walk through windshields etc…
i have been reading online and don’t know what to believe so i figured y’all could help. i hear horror stories about nitros but i like the way the look and are affordable, then again i know you get what you pay for . i guess what I’m asking is does anyone have knowledge about what brands to stay away from and what are good boats, i have a 20k budget and there are nice newish nitros all over the place and some few year old stratos in that ballpark. what would you do, again i am set on the fish and ski model, just don’t know what brand .
    is a 2009 stratos for 18k a good deal compared to a 2014 nitro for 20k
    thanks amigos

I’ve got a nitro z-7 sport and I love it.
Bought it used and the guy before put all the bells and whistles on it so I got lucky. I have had a few small problems but I wouldn’t call any of them deal breakers. I’ve replaced all the batteries but that may have been preimptive on my end. I had an issue with the boat getting on plane originally so I bought a hydrofoil and boat runs great now. Probably my biggest complaint is that it is a shallow v boat so it doesn’t take waves well. When it’s on plane it is ok but there are still times when you catch a roller and the bow would shoot way up. Now if I had hydraulic steer and I a hydraulic jack plate it wouldn’t be an issue but that’s a lot of money.
This is probably the best thing about the boat, it is 19’6″ long. It is amazing not having to

worry about casting and hitting the person on the back deck, which is usually my dad. Speaking of him, he is a die hard alumacraft guy but he likes the boat because of the space and storage.
Best or all my wife loves the boat and after that no one else matters.
if you got any questions holler at me.

I own a 2013 Z8. I have had no problems with it and really happy with how it performs and fishes. It has a great trolling motor with a Fortrex 101 live wells are great rides well in rough water plenty of storage. To be honest I only have one true complaint about the seat quality.

I own a 2007 Nitro 482. I have had it over a year and never had a problem with it. It has a 150 OPTI. The only thing I’ve done to it is replace batteries and some new trailer tires/lights. I don’t get the Nitro hate.

I had a Nitro 901 as my last boat and it was probably one of my favorites other than my current boat (Phoenix). Ive also had a skeeter and a Triton. The nitro rode OK but had huge room for a 19ft boat. It also handled well. In really rough water it did ride hard though. Ive not ridden in anything that takes rough water like my phoenix but of course they dont make a fish and ski!

I’m running a 2010 Triton Escape fish and ski. I love it . Runs a little deeper than a bass boat ,but has all the features . Extra seating was the reason I went f/s. The live well is small though. Good luck and be safe !
P.S. I believe the Nitro has fiberglass floor as the Triton is carpeted.

I’m all ears for now as i m out of town still and have plenty of time on my hands for researching boats

i chose this boat because it came with the ez loader tandem trailer and a motor that i really like , yet still has room for 5 guys and a great reputation
plus it just worked out well and the price was okay, ….and it looks like the bat-mobile

I am looking for a new to me boat as well. However, everything on Craigslist is extremely expensive or been rode hard and hung up wet! Where did you find that deal? From a dealer or craigslist?
