Guys, I have a big fish tourney on priest this weekend out of long Hunter and I haven’t fished priest in several months and will not have time to get out like I was hoping to. Any advice as if I should stay in the mid lake area or head to the east/west fork area? Tips on what to throw are welcomed as well. Thanks in advance…

Cmacfish, I’d recommend going through the forum and reading some of the fishing reports posted by Brian Carper. More specifically, the reports from the last month or so. This should give you a good idea of the transition/phase the fish have and are currently in.

Hope this helps, and good luck this weekend! Let us know how it goes.

I fished an hour after my trip. I never left sight of Fate Sanders. I started at the Cable Crossing sign across the channel from Fate. Casting a Hoppys Hawg Buzz, white, 3/8oz in 1ft-2ft of water to random boulder rocks. Fishing towards Stewarts Creek for 100 yards I had 5 bites, including 3 bass(2 keepers).

it took nearly 5# to win the big fish tournament yesterday and it as caught on a spinner bait in less than 5 feet of water. 2nd was 4.3 and 3rd was just under 4# and they were caught on the A-rig in less than 5 feet of water as well. Several good fish were caught from the bluff wall to the back of the cove at the long hunter ramp.
