Hello boys and girls. I just joined the forum last night and am very impressed with the content. I have been a member of FishingTN and Ultimate Bass for some time but see very few post about LM & SM bass fishing on local lakes?

I currently own, bought used in Sep 2014, a 2005 Stratos 200 ProXL with a 2004 Yamaha 225, HB 899HD DI SI, HB 859HD DI, MK Terrova 80 I-Pilot Link. Years back fished PP but now fish at OH. Once a month or so I go to Kentucky or Guntersville and try my hand there.

So just wanted to say hello…look forward to studying future post and posting my own results.

    Thanks, Jim

p.s. Could not find a subject where this should go…so if I posted in the wrong place correct and forgive me.

    Welcome Jim.

Are you new to the area or just new to the site?

Percy Priest is a better Smallmouth & Spot lake compared to Old Hickory but all 3 species (LM, SM, and Spots) can be caught in both. Old Hickory is dominated by large mouth compared to anything else. There are a few places down lake and a few more spots way up lake that hold smallies on Old Hickory but not too many. Anywhere mid-lake or down lake on Priest, as you probably know since you’ve fished it, have smallies.

I owned a 2000 Ranger 518VX w/ Johnson 200 from 2009-2013. Last year, I joined the Stratos owners club as well as I bought a beautiful 2009 Stratos 294XLE w/ 200 E-Tech & HDS8/HDS7/Structure Scan. So once again, welcome from another Stratos owner.

Hey TNBassman10…No I was born and raised in Nashville in 1946 “old” guy. Use to fish with my dad and a neighbor mostly on Kentucky. In 2000 I purchased a new Javelin 17 that I fished 100% PP out of. In 2003 I sold the boat and purchased a touring motorcycle and traveled to all states plus Alaska. Last year I got sick of riding bikes and so sold bike and purchased the Stratos. The reason I have switched to OH is that all the time I spent on PP caught a lot of fish LM but never any great size. This past fall I did not do so great on OH so maybe your right and I should switch back to PP.

Anyway thanks for your post…my Stratos 200 is White/Black Metallic pulled by a Silver Dodge 1500 4-Door. If you happen to see me yell and lets talk.

    Jim
