Couple if days ago I fished with Jerry the Hagman for crappie. It was a tough day, but we tried some new areas.

We started way up in the West Fork at the blown-out bridge where I usually bass fish. There are a couple big trees in that area in 14 to 16 ft. The water had 3.5ft visibility at 51 degrees. Tightlining minnows 2ft off the bottom we caught half a dozen with one keeper.

We moved up into the East Fork around the 840 bridge and started hopping around deep trees in 12 to 18 feet of water. We caught another ten with one more keeper over the next two hours!

We moved out of the Forks into Stewarts Creek. Stopping at the Stewarts Creek boat ramp we fished the main channel that swings in front of the bluff wall. We focused on several stumps in 14 to 18 feet of water. There was bait everywhere! We caught 10 crappie with 7 nice keepers. I also caught a few on a Crappie Magnet 1/8 oz with a black and purple body. We only had 9 keepers for the day, but it was nice to try something different.
