Yesterday I bass fished from 12-4pm. With two tournaments going out of Fate Sanders, I decided to run down lake and fish some areas that were not under as much pressure. We started in the cove to the left Four Corners(if you were coming out of the no wake zone). We fished 500 yards down that bank and then back over near four corners near the point right next to the docks. We fished with Hoppy’s Hawg Buzz, 3/8oz, white and SSR 5 shad raps(bluegil color patter) in 1ft-3ft. We caught 5 fish including 1 keeper.

Then we idled in the cove behind Four Corners marina. The wind was calm back there…..perfect for our buzzbaits. In 2 hours we had several strikes, landing 4, including 3 nice keepers. The rocks back there come out into the cove in several different areas. We were casting our buzzbaits anywhere we saw boulder rocks under the water.

Our last spot was back near Fate Sanders and Jones Mill Cove. There we fished with our buzzbaits and shad raps. We had zero bites.

    Thanks Brian,
Sounds like my kind of fishing. I like that area and appreciate updates on mid-lake spots.

Brian, We fished the boulders across from Faith Sanders with buzz bait and sq. bill no luck except one small strike. Tried sister cove same results. On the way out we saw tons of bait fish and several large fish in about 16-18ft of water tried mid to deep crank bait but couldn’t get a hit. The bait and large fish seemed to be suspended at about 14 to 15 ft. just off the bottom. I’ve seen this pattern a couple of times now that the water temp. has dropped. My question to all members is how is the best way to fish this pattern?

I would drop a spoon down there to see if you have any takers. This time of year for that I believe is a good choice.

I usually drop a gay blade or a drop shot with small finesse worm. If I don’t get any takers after 10 minutes….im gone. Brian
