Today I fished from 7am-3pm. The morning started off with a bang. At our fish spot in Sister Cove(the right bank), we caught 2 keeper largemouth bass and 2 almost keeper smallmouth bass! The secret lure was a SSR7 in bluegill pattern in 1ft-3ft. I also tried a Hoppy’s Hawg Buzz, 3/8oz, chartreuse, and had one big missed strike. After the right bank died, we moved over to the left bank and had one keeper there.

Our next spot was the mouth of Fall Creek. As soon as you enter the creek, we fished the left bank with SSR5 and SSR7. We caught 2 there with 1 keeper largemouth in 1ft-3ft of water.

By this time the wind was really ripping, so we retreated to the back of Spring creek. There were two other boats back there and not much activity, so we left pretty quickly.

Sticking to our creek pattern, we moved down to Stewart Creek. We started fishing the rock bends once the creek narrows in the back. There were a ton of leaves on the water, making it hard to retrieve a crankbait, but on we managed to catch 2, including one keeper. Side note…..there is tons of bait in there.

I had a lot of main lake shallow points and rock piles I wanted to fish in the current, but the wind was too strong.

We fished the back of Fate Sanders Marina, no luck except for a missed strike on a Hoppy’s buzzbait. There was tons of bait in the back left of the cove.

Hope some of those big fish are there Saturday! Going to be fishing tournament.

Next report, Friday the 8th, Crappie!

Can’t wait for the crappie report. I have had a very rough time catching crappie.

Good luck in the tournament Brian, Look forward to your report. Hopefully the wind will die down as it is getting much colder for the weekend.
