Today was one of those days you dream about!

With the high water(which is 5ft above summer pool) right now I planned on going out and flipping bushes with a big jig, but that plan did not last long. I launched from Fate Sanders with BCGS guide and install/repair man, Ben Malone. It was 7:30am, we headed down lake to get into clearer water. Our first and last spot was behind Hong Kong Island. We started on the right side of the island and idled to the back islands. We scanned around a while and found some bait, but not a lot. We flipped some bushes around the island for a few minutes with no action and then saw some fish feeding on the surface 200 yards to the left on a point. We motored over to the action and started casting our A-rigs. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM….the next hour or so we caught tons of white bass and giant hybrids in the 4lb-6lb range. After the action died down we started bouncing around points anywhere in the back. Each spot we went to we caught 15-20 bass!!! The first active spot we used Rat 2.75 black and Chrome and Rat 2.25 sexy shad and caught fish after fish in the 1lb-3lb range! After a while we would move to another point and start spanking them again. On one of the points we caught 25 bass with 15 keepers on the A-rig!!! That same point we caught several doubles! At 1pm we had several 4lb and 5lbs!!! Our best 5 weighed well over 20lbs! The water temperature was 67 and clarity was around 1.5ft and we would keep the boat in 4ft-8ft, casting near the tree line. The points with the most wind were where the big bass were holding. We would cast out and retrieve slowly without touching the bottom. What a day!!! I can not wait to get back out there tomorrow! I wonder why the big feeding frenzy going on right now Brian? Are they pulling water? I have been out of town and with the bad weather since I came home on Sunday I have not hit the water for a couple of weeks. Sounds like I have been missing out. Do you know if the crappie are getting shallow yet?
