OH Friday May 15
Launched from Shutes branch around 6 am with my buddy Mark. We fished for about an hour around the docks and boathouses. Mark caught 3 keepers right off the bat along the grassy shorelines uning a tx rigged green h20melon split
Tail worm. I was tossing a brand new Storm arishi square bill and lost it a piece of submerged rope or cable. I felt like diving to the bottom to get it but changed by mind. After getting over it we left Shutes Branch and headed into Drakes Creek. We fished the coves on the right as you head in from the mouth all the way past Creekwood Marina. I switched to a Chartreuse Zoom 5″ lizard tx rigged . Casting from 2-5 ft into grass beds on the shore line I started hooking up but Mark was ahead of me by 5 fish. We caught fish after fish all morning from 1 to 3 lbs. using the same technique . After using almost an entire pack of lizards , I switched to a Zoom baby brush hog h20melon candy red and so did Mark. The bite was soft , almost like bluegill. Biggest fish was just under 4 lb. we caught plenty of 2s and 3s also. Overall we caught 30- 40 fish combined. I learned a lot. It was just one of those days you hope to have.I hope this helps
