Anyone been out recently?! Looking to get out this weekend and was curious if anyone has been having any luck.

I was out last Saturday morning, launched from the public ramp right by Cheekwood Marina, and stayed in Drakes Creek for the entire day (for better or worse). As you guys may remember the morning was overcast and the wind was blowing from the west around 10 mph. I ended up catching maybe three small keepers and several other dinks. Looking back on it I think I was forcing the deep bite too much for the conditions. I caught a couple fish shallow on docks early and probably should of ran with it longer but as the day went on and the sun came out I did find a steep drop near the mouth of Drakes where I caught several fish off of some brush in around 7-10 feet of water.

I was throwing the kitchen sink at ’em but ended up catching most of my fish on crankbaits and a wacky rigged stickbait but my best fish came on a 10″ power worm rigged on a 1/2oz swing jighead.

I went about a week ago and caught all my fish off crank bait. Some casting by shore and trying to bring it past drop off ledge. I also set up 2 poles on back of the boat and trolled crank baits along the ledge to the main channel in about 18 to 25 feet of water, I do my best to stay on top of the ledge drop off. Caught around 4 bass and 4 nice size crappies and 1 walleye doing that.
