We fished OH Bass Anglers tournament Saturday which 15.81 won it and the big fish was 4.12. Most that fished it said it was a tough day. We made a long run from flippers to fish Drakes creek grass had some short fish. It didn’t pay off like before. We had to get out of the wind it was a hurricane from the NW Geezz. So we started moving back down pass Shutes and fished main lake points where we saw bait. We started catching short fish, square bills did work well just no size only 2 keepers on the day. We found most fish on the main lake points for sure. I snagged a threadfin which are all of 4-5 inches now. Also we pulled a claw out from a crawfish and just so you know the color was green pumpkin with a little orange. I would start with that color!! We fished 1-15 ft with most caught under 5 ft. Water temp was 67.4 when we started and warmed up to 73.2. Still no topwater bite that I’ve seen.

Anyone know the Shriners Hospital tournament results from the same day??

I was out Saturday evening and had a real good day. We didn’t get a lot of bites (maybe 9 bites between two guys all day) but a few of them were the right ones. We ended the day with around 18 pounds, including a 6, 5 and 3 plus pounder. We launched from Cages Bend rec area and fished the small creek directly NE from the launch (not sure the name of it, maybe it’s just called Cages Bend). After that we fished the funny farm area, across the main lake from Cedar Creek. All of our good ones came from shallow spawning-esque areas. We saw a lot of fry up shallow so I think the fish we caught were freshly post-spawn or fry guarders. Most effective baits were classic old hickory stuff, pitching a beaver style bait, vibrating and swim jig.

Funny thing is, we went back out on Sunday thinking we were going to smash ’em… welp, the bass were NOT on the same page as us. We caught maybe 5 all day, including 3 keepers with the best one being 2.5-3#.

And last but not least, a couple pics of the beast-pigs we caught:

Good catch, Dakota. I’ve removed the link. Was Shriners a one day derby on Saturday?
