Not worth the time to enter, disqualifying a boat for being on time and not having there chip in the bucket… Printed rules of the tournament does not make any mention on having your chip in the bucket by 1230 prior to weigh in. Poorly run and definately shows lack of experience. When your told to drop it off if you leave before 1230 when you sign in for accountability that’s one thing but to change/ make up a new rule at weigh in to disqualify the winning boat is another. We will never fish with this group again and will make sure everyone else we know doesn’t either!!

Sorry to hear you feel this way.
This was to be a friendly tournament.
    No prior tournament experience required.

Whenever a tournament uses a chip
that chip needs to be in the bucket by weight in time.
    (tournament fishing 101)
*this chip rule will be clearly defined for future tournaments

The other 5 boats, including people who had never fished
a tournament before, understood and managed
to get their chip in the bucket before the 12:30 deadline.

    I hate that this happened.
I ‘d like to thank the others who participated in the tournament
Happy to see some men bring their sons out fishing for the first time.

    Congrats to Nolan and Noah.

Not fishing 101 we talked to the other guys at the dock when we pulled up like we discussed in the parking lot if that was the “rule” it should have been on the rule sheet we got.

I felt like the Chip rule was made pretty clear when we checked in but it probably should have been on the rule sheet to avoid any confusion. I am sure it will be next time. I can understand the frustration but I think Chuck was trying to do the right thing by enforcing the rules everyone was abiding by. My son and I had a great time and look forward to the next one. I think this is a great opportunity for the weekend angler to get some tournament exposure and meet other forum members. Hopefully next time the fishing will be better! Thanks again to Chuck and his wife for putting this on. -Abe
