We launched about 7 and fished until 1. We took the short drive to eagle creek and we started fishing a rock bank. My partner fished the a rig and I fished the 3 bladed spinnerbait and a dt10 in red craw pattern. After and hour power fishing we found out that they just wouldn’t hit a fast moving bait. We went to the back side of davies island and fished 3/16 ounce bits bugs in black/ blue and Green pumpkin. We finally got a bite after an hour and it didn’t hold on long enough to get a hook set. My partner got 2 hits on the black/blue and I hadn’t got one yet so I tied on a black/blue jig. 15 minutes later I casted into 3 foot of water and had a fish slam the jig. I waited a few seconds then I set the hook only to rig the claws off my paca chunk. I had to borrow a Zoom speed chunk and before I casted back to the same spot I put on some bait mate. This time he hit it I waited 5 seconds and swung on him. I had the fish on for 3 seconds before he got off. Very frustrating. I fished for the next 2 hours without a fish landed. I went through a pack of speed chunks. My partner caught a 2 pound largemouth and we fished around davies island some more. We moved to another steep rock bank around davies island and I fished it for 15 minutes. I felt a very slight tap, tap, tap and I waited 3 seconds this time. I set the hook and I ended up with a 12.25 inch spotted bass. After another few minutes of not catching anything we had to go back to the boat ramp.

The winner ended up having 3 fish . All in all a very tough day.

We launched out of hurricane bridge and it was toigh for me. I had 1 spot weighing in at 2.33# caught in the back of hurrican creek on a spinner bait.. The winner had a limit with nearly 9.5# and several guys had 4 each, one was a 4.68# smallie caught on a jerk bait. Most of the bigger bags was caught in deep water on or near points. I did have a heavy one on for about 10 seconds dragging a jig in 12-15 ft near floating mill marina but it came off. I had a few more bites on a shaky head in some pockets but couldn’t hook anything else. If I never fish Center Hill again it wouldn’t bother me at all. Never done well.
