Ramp on lower lake
Posted by shd126-verizon-net on June 17, 2017 at 2:19 pmNew to the area and wanting to know the best ramp to use on the west side of the lower lake. Especially for night fishing. Because of where I live this area would be the closest for me.

I would probably recommend the Safe Harbor RV Resort. It’s $8 to launch but it’s gated and there’s a machine that accepts CC’s. Having said that, I think those things would keep the riff raff out. The other place I’d recommend would be the Marina at North Shores. There’s an $8 fee and no gate but the parking lot is lit up pretty well and I haven’t seen anything or anybody sketchy since I’ve start going there last winter.
I’ve fished the lower end for years now and those are the only two launches I’ve found that I would feel safe launching/loading from at night.
Good luck!

Do you know if you can get a yearly pass to this ramp like you can at four corners?
I usually launch at Hurricane Creek but it is actually quicker for me to get to Safe Harbor than Hurricane.
Hurricane is lit a little and has a dock but i am definitely keeping an eye out when i launch. -

The Marina at North Shores does offer a year pass for $95 and they have dock(s) that are usable throughout the winter, which isn’t the case for Safe Harbor. When they drop the water in the Fall/Winter, the dock at Safe Harbor is not safe but if you don’t need a dock you should be good to go.
