We fished the lower end if the lake again today for a couple of hours.
Down in old hickory cove, the water had a really funky red/brown sediment floating around. It looked almost like rusty mud. Hater was also in insane amount of green slime/algae/gack around most if the shallow water that we fished. Is it possible that the reddish brown stuff in the water is red algae? Or that some of the pockets on the lower end turned over due to the heavy rain over the weekend? Anyone here a fisheries biologist?
    J.

Ps. I’ll post a report later tonight. It was a slow day.

I think I saw the same stuff at mid-lake. I thought it was an unscrupulous houseboat owner who dumped his waste.

There was way too muck for it to have been from a house boat.
It was around goose island on Sunday and all around old hickory cove today. It’s odd when looking with polarized glasses it looks like sediment floating in the water, but a dark reddish brown color. We didn’t see any in Hamilton creek or elm hill area. J

I saw some around Bryants Grove yesterday. I thought is was a shadow and then realized it was moving with the water. Weird.
