Report – Sunday – October 20
So,
Long story short. only fished for about an hour from 12-1. heard good reports at the ramp about topwater fishing downlake around shallow rocks. started with that in Hamilton Creek. I Had a couple of swirls on a walk-the-dog lure, but i think the bluebird skies were an issue by mid-day. I did catch a nice 2lb LMB out of a brushpile in the back of Hamilton Creek on a small soft plastic craw on a shakey head. There were a couple of bigger fish that came out of the brush chasing the hooked fish, but they wouldn’t bite anything after i pulled the first one in. Had a few more bites around laydowns and brush on the craw, but nothing hooked up [crappie/sunfish?]. So much for my fall search strategy. 😉 I probably would have had a better day if I had gotten on the water when I was planning… Or if I had not forgotten the boat plug and had to pull the boat out, drain, and relaunch…. first time i’ve done that.
