Yesterday I had a huge corporate trip with 25 employees from John Deere! We had two pontoons full catching several crappie, but the bass were on fire! Out of 5 bassboats, 4 of them caught 12-20 bass in just four hours!

It might still be warm in the afternoons, but the cooler temperatures throughout the night are effecting the bass. The bass are making a strong push into the backs of coves and into the creeks to feed on shad. Yesterday almost all of the bass were caught around Fate Sanders. Behind Fate Sanders cove, Sister cove(in the back), Lamar Hill(in the back) were the 3 big areas that were loaded with shad and bass. The bass were active in the morning, but around 9:30am and into the afternoon they really turned on. Fishing in 1ft-6ft with 1/4oz shaky heads, shad raps(shad color), sexy shad squarebill crankbaits, jerkbaits, rattle traps(chrome blue 1/2oz), and swing head jigs with orange Paca craws all were productive! Most of the fish are smaller, but there was a few around 3lb, 4lb, and 5lbs! If you find the shad in these or other areas and don’t get a bite, do not leave too quickly. Stay for a while and tried different baits.
