Yesterday we had a fair day on the lake. Crappie fishing mid lake around Mousetail Island, Ponderosa Island, and the Youth Incorporated area we caught 25 fish including 8 keeper crappie. The wind was really strong with the front moving in and the water temperature was 80 degrees. We caught a few in 18 feet of water on the west side of Moustail and a few on the west side of Ponderosa Island. However, most of our fish came on the Youth Camp bank. Instead of fishing out on the hump in the Mmddle we focused up against the bank in 10 to 12 feet of water. In two brush piles we caught 6 keepers. We also caught yellow bass and several bluegills. It was hard to fish many trees due to the wind. I’ll be out Monday with the Hagman…. hopefully we can get 30 or 40 keepers!
