Didn’t do so well myself, but a guy I talked to at the launching ramp said he had a livewell full caught backside of Hongkong on a frog.

I caught most of mine in the cove on the left side of rock island. The shad were in there and the bass were slowly following. I did not catch a bunch, but did land 6. I was using a red/white super spook jr. and white flukes. I missed a couple really early this morning.

Tomorrow it is going to be cloudy!!! Can’t wait…buzzbaits and topwater lures for 5 hours straight.

I have been fishing for 200+ days a year for almost a decade and somehow I still get extremely excited the night before. There is nothing like it!

P.S. Heddon jr spook is my favorite spook too! My favorite color is blue and clear/frost.

Agreed. Hard to beat that Super Spook Jr. Super easy to walk with that signature rattle/noise too! I must say I recently got the Chug’n Spook Jr. and that’s a good one too. Good luck, Brian.

I really love the academy H2O brand topwaters.

Good luck Brian. I agree with you that I usually cannot sleep the night before a fishing trip. I have to have everything perfect and ready for that first cast. I wish you all the best buddy and keep them reports coming so I can catch a few to lol. The bite on the spooks have been explosive when the bass have been active. I hope you wear them out tomorrow Brian.
    Thanks for all you do

Degaman, where is “Hong Kong” island exactly?

Here are the coordinates from google maps.
You can plug them into the search box on local.google.com and see the island in question.

    36.055132, -86.529764

It’s the island to the west of pooles knob on the south side of the lake. The backside [south side] has a large no-wake zone and includes a nature preserve.
    Hope this helps.
    j.
