Each day the fishing is getting better and better! Today I fished from 6:30-11am. We started our morning fishing around the Smyrna pump house in 1ft-2ft of water around weeds with Hoppy’s Hawg Buzz. 3/8oz. buzzbaits(white). The first 2 hours we had probably 12 strikes with 6-8 bass. It is really shallow back there and some areas are hazardous….I would raise your trolling motor some. Our next spot was around the La Vergne pump house….one or two strikes there with none in the boat.

The sun was high, so we switched over to plastic worms(shaky heads with trick worms and liazards in pumpkin color pattern) and jigs in the Long Hunter boat ramp cove. We caught 1 and had several bites fishing the bigger rocks to the right and left of the boat ramp.

Our last stop was at Sister Cove(big cove next to Fate Sanders). Fishing the back left of the cove, where the wind was blowing into, we caught two more. One was on a rattle trap(Red Eye shad, chrome and blue) and the other was on a Strike King Bitsy Jig, brown/pumpkin, 1/4oz.

All in all, it was a great morning. Some of the fish we caught at our first spot were in the 3lb-4lb range!

    Go get em,
    Brian

My son and I had a great day below the pump house Sunday. Caught 9 with 5 keepers. Note of Caution. If you enter the area from he pump house side be very careful. I was crusing very slow just below the the shallow entrance in abour 4.5′ of water and ran in to a 3.5′ rock just under the surface. It took a 1″ square out of my lower fin.

I could not find them anywhere at Lamar Hill this morning, shallow or deep. I am going to try a buzzbait next time.

Where are these pump houses (Smyrna and La Vergne) you speak of exactly? Thanks in advance!

If your look at a map of the lake, Smyrna pump house is just below Jefferson pike bridge and la vergne pump house is next to Hong Kong island. Brian
