A lot of fog early I got there at 815 and a mix of yaks and boats maybe 6-8? They weren’t pushing any water so not a lot of current. Water temp was 56-58. Used cast net to catch threadfin. Used 3 way swivel with 3/4 bell sinker and circle hook. Caught a 5 lb drum which is fun until u see its a drum. Also some skippies. This 3 lb smallie made the day a lot better. Caught on big threadfin. Used crappie magnet, blade bait and jerk baits too. Skippies on cm nothing on blade or jerk bait. Also used live skipjack on Carolina rig 1/2 oz with circle hook but no takers.

Another outing Used threadfin to catch most everything today. Skipjack liked sabiki rig and double rigged crappie magnets. Nothing hit the skippies I was hoping for the big one. Some real small skippies and then some big ones. Biggest fish here. The largemouth was 4lb. Striper was fun not huge though. Wind was out of the west but I was protected once I was in behind all the trees

Looks like an awesome day! Does it get crowded there, around the steam plant?

Yes it will get crowded on the weekends. Depending on the weather. If you can get out on a week day somehow it is worth the trip. If the wind is hard and cold from the south it’s the toughest. If the winds from Northwest West Northeast it’s a whole lot better you are protected from that cold air.

Thinking about going to the steamplant this week to try and catch some Tilapia. Never fished there before. Has anyone had any luck lately ? I could use any pointers anyone is willing to give up ? Also, where can you get minnows this time of year in that area ?

    Thanks,
