Early morning on Stewarts creek this AM was fantastic. Got on the water about 6:15am and had planned on running down the lake to check out a few new spots we’d read about on the forum but my son wanted to try some top water. From the ramp we turned left then in to the first cove on the left. Within the first 40 minutes we had 3 keepers and 2 shorts. The water temp. was about 78 degrees and we were sitting in 3-5ft. throwing buzz bait in to 1.5 to 2ft. We made several passes on the grass line and caught 9 more good size bass. About 10:00am we left there and tried shallow crank bait in and around Bryant’s cove only caught a couple of shorts. We then tried plastic worm off the point near the scout camp caught one keeper and a 2 – 3 lb cat… Called it a day about noon.
Seems they are still hitting well on top water in the mornings and scattered in the afternoon.

Great report! Sounds like across the board members are starting to catch bass shallow…and the best fishing is still yet to come!

    Thanks Frisky,
    Brian
