Fished Priest for only the second time this year. Put in at four corners and stayed in sight of the marina the whole time and fished from 5pm till dark. Tried a few areas but only caught fish in one. Found fish in 7-10 ft of water on a big boulder shelf that came out, just fished back and forth down a 200 yard stretch. caught 9 fish (several more bites) with about 5 being keepers with one big mama that went just at 5lbs (don’t know how to post pics on here). all on shakeyhead (thats about all I throw anyway). I was probably 2 casts worth off the bank fishing a big flat, if I wasnt hitting boulders, I wasnt getting bit. Water temp was 80.

Be careful, this 90 degree weather brought out all the crazies, boat traffic was ridiculous.

You aren’t kidding. I went out last Sunday and with the 90 degree temps all the yahoos were out. On my very FIRST spot, which was an offshore hump, and by my THIRD cast I had a pontoon boat full of people drive right over the hump within a cast’s distance from me. 😡 👿

Hey, at least they had the decency to wave at me while they did it… 🙄

Apparently common sense isn’t very common at all.

I fish KY lake a ton as I grew up on the that lake and we have a place in blood river. Its been enough that even when pleasure boaters are out, I can still hide some. Priest is 1/4 the size and twice as many pleasure boaters and I haven’t figured out how to hide on priest yet. Even up river has a ton of boats.

Agree. Its a battle to fight the jet ski’s whizzing close at times. Summer, I usually pick a cove and stay there. And always watch myself to not get to close to the shore that a fast big wake puts me on rock! It has happen a couple times to me out in PP and it scared me straight!
