Caught 50 talipia on OH Saturday at the steam plant. Two of them were over 2 pounds. Seem to be doing well and population is healthy. I was hearing stories of them being caught but now I know it be true.

Kkuntzy, how are you catching these Talipia exactly?

I heard worms in the bottom like cat fishing.

I was using worms about a foot off the bottom. They really don’t hit the bait but just suck it in so keep a pretty tight line and the float barely goes under so have enough weight on that the float is easy to down. Hope that helps and good luck

Are you fishing near the water release or just all along throughout the cove?

I have also seen post on another forum that Talipia are in the back of Bluegrass also for those that put in closer to the dam end of OH.

    Good luck, Jim

They are an invasive species and you are not supposed to release them back into any waters.

here’s a vid from this weekend of Mickey Beck catching Tilapia at the steamplant.
I haven’t watched the whole thing yet, but figured it was pertinent to this thread.
