Going out at daybreak tomorrow. I usually fish evenings until this point when the weather is warm. Anyone doing well on topwater action early? Haven’t thrown a topwater yet this year.

I always start the morning with a Rico, which is like a PopR. I always catch one fish on it, but that’s it. Tried other topwater to no avail but haven’t came close to trying everything. Caught fish on a silver jerkbait too.

I’ve been catching a few here and there on a wakebait recently but by no means have I set anything on fire. Having said that, post spawn is usually the time of year that can be really good for topwater… more specifically a walking style bait.

They sure are proud of those Ricos…I find it hard to spend $20 on one lure.

Got a 15 incher last Friday evening just before dark on a white buzzbait Stewarts Creek, haven’t been early morning yet this year.
