Trolling Motor (advice needed)
Before I spend the money, I thought I’d seek out some opinions on trolling motors with the gps spot/anchor function. I mostly crappie fish vertically 5 to 18 ft deep over brush piles with jigs and minnows, 5 to 15 mph wind max.
I’ve read through the pros and cons on the various fishing forums, but hoped to get some non-biased opinions here. If you’ve had any experience with using a trolling motor with a gps spot/anchor feature, please let me know your thoughts. -

I had a motorguide with gps last year syncd up to my lowrance hds and it was great at holding a spot and trolling slow at whatever speed you desire
Didn’t like it for bass fishing bc it was hard to maneuver manually but the wireless auto pilot rocked for crappie -
Crappie fishing with the the xi5 on my pontoon is great!

Seems like people are going crazy about the new Minn Kota Ultrex.

I’m leaning toward the Motorguide xi5. If I buy one, I’ll post my thoughts about it, after a few fishing trips.

I have minn kota terrova with i pilot link not only is the spot lock great but so is the “follow the contour” or navigate around a way point. The remote control feature is great also. Love the “follow the route” that you can manually do. Highly recommend it.

Thanks for all the advice! I ended up getting the Xi5 and the Anchor feature is working great!!! It was a coin toss between the Motorguide and the Minn Kota. Thanks again!!!!
