I’m gonna get out for a few hours Saturday Morning before I lose my mind… Ive never really trolled much… Leaving Smith Springs heading to Hobson Bridge.. the place on the right before I go under the Bridge is that a good place to Troll for Crappie??? I’m so burnt out with work I just wanna relax and let the wind blow through (whats left of my hair) lol… Just thought id ask… and also the Stake beds where all the rocks are right before you get to the Pump Station, has anyone ever tried them?? ive seen them but never really stopped to try….

As far as those stake beds I wouldn’t be too shocked if they where out of water, the lake is really low right now. Never was able to get the boat out this week due to work 😥 But had a chance to pull over at stewerts creek boat ramp and check out the water. All of the state beds in the cove where completely out of water.

I’ve had luck trolling with crankbaits (4-8ft divers) at 2.5 mph (main motor) by just going in and out of random coves with rocky banks. I stay in about 10ft of water and do large circles staying about 30 yards off the bank
Also using yellow bird planer boards helps push the lure outside the boats wake
Usually no matter what the weather is you an pick something up. Also set the drag light so if u catch bottom it won’t snap off . And look for birds and drive through the middle of them always is fun as long as other guys aren’t fishing them
No science to it or overthinking for me , just enjoying .

I went today and trolled with 2 rods (6-10 ft diving crankbaits in random colors) around the cut throughs just north of fate sanders and caught about 20 bass (hybrid, large mouth and white bass) it was cold and a bit windier than I thought but a great day of mindless fishing that took no real talent . Lol . Just paying attention to depth , stayed in 15-20 ft of water at all times

Pretty fish for sure! I’m trying to decide if I want to get out Saturday morning for bass or Saturday afternoon for crappie. I cannot do both so I gotta pick. Such a tough decision!
