Had a great morning in Stewart’s creek! Got off work at 0700 launched at fate sanders at 0800. Ran up above weakley lane bridge to the point between fs rec and Lamar hill. Had great day here 2 weeks ago. Only had 1 this morning on white buzz bait. Moved to the big point going into Stewart’s creek fished 30 minutes not a bite. Packed up headed back into Stewart’s creek and started seeing tons of bait. Stopped at the point at the ski cove started seeing schools busting bait balls both in the channel and in less than 1ft of water. Started with my buzz bait and moved to a spook not a sniff on either. Switched to a square bill that runs less than a foot deep throwing it almost to dry land and that was the game changer. Had 12-13 in the next hour including 2 keeper largemouth one was close to 4lbs and a mean little small mouth. My better spots lately have been gravel banks with a few big rocks and brush mixed in. My boat was in water so shallow the trolling motor was more like a shallow water anchor had to pick it up to move. Will be back in the morning around 0800 with my partner from work to try it again.
