I would start your day off in the YMCA cover(the one with the big slides.) Specifically, I would start in the back where it is shallow and work your way out. Start with topwater baits…buzzbaits and poppers. The first 2 hours I would stay fairly shallow(2ft-4ft). I would also try around the Smith Springs boat ramp cove. If you do not get any bites in the first 45min on topwater, I would switch to crankbaits that run 3-6ft in shad color pattern. If the bite is slow, move to the sailboat cove in Hamilton Creek and fish the left side with plastic worms. I almost always fish a 3/16oz shaky head with a 7″ Zoom Trick Worm….watermelon/red. I can’t guaranty your have a successful day on the water, but these are good spots and I hope you catch a bunch!
