I put in at 5:30am, when I got over there I couldn’t help myself. I had intended on trolling cranks or jigs along the channel and wound up shooting docks, they have some of the best docks I’ve come across, close to the channel and lots of lifts and pontoons in the slips. First dock I shot caught two keepers and then about a dozen 6″ to 8″ shorts. That was the pattern pretty much the next several hours I fished. Had quite a few docks I caught short fish with no keepers, which after 2 or 3 of them I desided if I didn’t catch a keeper after 4 fish I was moving to the next dock. Had a great time, wound up with 11 keepers when I left at 10. Thats when the jet ski’s started coming out of the wood work. I’m pretty pumped about fishing in there when the weather cools down although the water temp started out at 74 degrees, and when I left it was 80 not to warm for this time of the year. I was fishing 1/16oz. glow green jig heads with hot grubs in blue/grey with chart tail and Mo Glo chart slab slayer. Most hits came on the fall so Hi Vis line is a big advantage. Maybe next time I’ll try trolling…maybe.

    Have a great day,
    Ray
