In past years I have used a white grub on a 1/16oz jig head. I retrieve the grub right infront of their nose and as soon as it passes their eyes they will start following it…..eventually biting it. The trick is getting the hook in their tissue or cartilage so you can reel him in. A lot of times they jump and throw the lure because the hook is only in there nose/bone. Nevertheless, still fun!
