Started off in the dark windy rain. Took refuge along the bluffs beneath Weakley Lane Bridge until daybreak. Had a few bites on Texas Rig, but only caught one small bass.

At daybreak went to intended cove. Noticed huge balls of shad on depth finder. Nothing was breaking the surface, but decided to try the fluke anyway. Fish after fish after fish. Several keepers to start, then later as the schools surfaced lots of 14″ fish including a few spots. At one time the water appeared to be boiling all around me. Wind was still strong, so I dropped the anchor. Never moving for 3+ hours, I caught probably 50 fish.

Tried a buzzbait with no luck. Then caught 1 on spinnerbait. Went back to the fluke and it was back to slaying ’em.
