It was a cold wet morning on Priest. I figured I’d get out for a little bit and get a report before I go out of town this weekend. There was 0 water clarity at Fate Sanders when I dropped the boat in. The water temperature was 52 degrees.

I motored down lake and pulled into the cove on the right just before the Hobson Pike bridge. There were birds diving in rhe back in 3-8ft. I did one lapn while watching my depth finder. The water was 51 degrees with 0 clarity still. There were bait and white base in 6-8 feet all in the back. I tried my Alabama rig and a 1/4oz chart/black rattle trap for 20 minutes without a bite and pulled up the trolling motor.

Next I motored into Suggs Creek. The water was a little clearer, but now at 50 degrees. I fished a couple points and steeper banks on the right after you enter the creek. The water was clearer with around a foot visibility. I kept the boat in 8-20ft cast my rig. After 45 minutes and no bites I pulled up the trolling motor while the rain started coming down.

I stopped into the cove across from the Youth Inc camp and checked the back right corner. Water temp was 52 at almost 0 clarity. I tried my 1/4oz traps for 40 yards without a bite ane pulled up the trolling motor.

My last and best spot was back in Stewart’s Creek. I parked in front of the back boat ramp and started casting to the left point. The water temperature was 54.5 with 1ft visibility. There was also a little current beginning to move through the creek again. Casting my a-rig near the bank in 3ft and retreating into 6ft I had my first fish…..3lb. After 10 minutes I picked up my rattle trap and caught another keeper…2+lbs. I stayed there for 20 minutes longer and tried a white chatterbait without any luck. I fished up to the riprap bank where the water was starting to get muddy without a bite and decided to call it a day.

Its was nice to get out and stretch the line!
